This page explains how to connect SAP Build Work Zone related products in SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry environment to SAP Focused Run to enable monitoring:

Prerequisites

The following technical prerequisites have to be met in order to monitor this scenario:

  • SAP Focused Run 5.0 SP01
  • SAP Cloud ALM subscription
  • Subscription for SAP Build Work Zone
  • Make sure your SAP Build Work Zone is visible in the Landscape Management of your SAP Cloud ALM tenant
  • Ensure that you configured the SAP Focused Run reverse proxy in SAP Cloud ALM and enable the landscape sync during the reverse proxy setup.

How to enable the collection of metrics in your SAP Build Work Zone related product

 

To enable the data collection for HTML5 apps and locally created HTML5 apps, follow these steps:

  1. Access the SAP Build Work Zone.
  2. Go to the Site Settings screen.
  3. Open the Services section.
  4. Enable the Statistical Data Collection setting.

SAP Build Work Zone Applications that can be activated are:

1. HTML5 apps from the HTML5 content provider
2. Locally created SAPUI5 applications (in the Content Manager)

 

Iframe embedded applications like fiori applications from on-premise systems sent the data to their backend system and need to be collected and displayed there.

Setup steps in SAP Focused Run

SAP Build Work Zone already uses our new OpenTelemetry@SAP infrastructure for monitoring data collection.

To enable the monitoring for your SAP Build Work Zone, only two steps are necessary:

  1. Setup OpenTelemetry@SAP via SAP Focused Run Proxy
  2. Activate the monitoring for the SAP Build Work Zone tenant in Real User Monitoring.
