Setup Steps in SAP Cloud for Customer

Create Communication Agreement

  1. In the left-hand navigation panel, navigate to the 'Administrator' → 'General Settings' view in the SAP C4C launchpad
  2. Select 'Communication Systems' under Integration
  3. Use the 'New' button to create a new communication system
    • ID: Enter e.g. CRUN
    • Host Name: Enter e.g. eu10.alm.cloud.sap
    • System Access Type: Select 'Internet'
  4. Click 'Add Row' to maintain a new System Instance
    • System Instance ID: Enter e.g. CRUN 
    • Preferred Application Protocol: Choose '5 - Web Service'
  5. Save the communication system
  6. Set the communication system to active via 'Actions' → 'Set to Active'
  7. Navigate back to the 'General Settings' view and select Integration → 'Communication Arrangements'
  8. Use the 'New' button to create a new Communication Arrangement
  9. Select Scenario: Select 'Query Webservice Message for Monitoring'
  10. Define Business Data: Select the CRUN communication system
  11. Define Technical Data:
    • Communication Method: Direct Connection
    • Application Protocol: Web Service
    • Authentication Method: SSL Client Certificate
    • User ID: Click 'Edit Credentials' to either maintain user and password or to download the certificate
  12. Review and Confirm. 

Setup Steps in SAP Cloud ALM

Create HTTP End-Point

  1. Open the Landscape Management application from the launchpad
  2. Select your SAP Sales Cloud service
  3. Press the > button at the end of the line
  4. On the tab "Endpoints" press the Add button to create a new end-point
  5. Enter a description
  6. Choose the use-case "Integration Monitoring"
  7. Choose BASIC authentication enter the user and password created in the Communication Agreement

Activate Monitoring (Standard)

In SAP Cloud ALM you can easily activate the standard monitoring content without any additional setup effort. 

  1. Open the Integration Monitoring application from the launchpad
  2. The scope selection will appear automatically
  3. Change the drop-down for Display Service to "All"
  4. Make sure to select your cloud service in the scope
  5. Click the Configuration button in the upper right corner to access the configuration
  6. Expand the Configuration panel
  7. Change the toggle button next to the cloud service from OFF to ON

Adjust Monitoring and Alerting (Expert)

You can change which parts of the standard content are activated for each cloud service, activate and deactivate alerts or create own alerts with specific filters. 

  1. In the configuration panel, click on the name of the cloud service
  2. The "Configuration of Services" screen opens
  3. In the "Configuration for Services" screen, click the > button at the end of the line for the cloud service you want to change

Adjust Monitoring Categories

  1. Use the toggle button in the column Active to turn a monitoring category ON or OFF

Adjust Alerting

  1. Use the toggle button in the column Active to turn a standard alert ON or OFF
  2. Press the > button at the end of the line to access the detail setup for an existing alert or use the + button to create a new alert
  3. Adjust the display name if desired
  4. Expand the Filter Configuration tray
  5. Enter a filter name
  6. Select the filter category
  7. Maintain the available filter fields (see details below)

Available Alerts for SAP Cloud for Customer

  • Erroneous C4C Message Detected: Creates an alert for each failed message in SAP C4C
  • Erroneous C4C Messages Detected: Creates an alert if one or more failed messages on SAP C4C were detected since the last data collection

Available Filter Fields for SAP Cloud for Customer

You can choose one or more filter fields to restrict the messages for which an alert will be created.

Which filter values to use for SAP C4C messages depends on the message direction.

INCOMING Messages

  • Message Direction: INCOMING
  • Status: Field MessageState of the message, use input help to select the desired filter value
  • Status Label: Filter on the status details
  • Status Group: The status group for the status of the message, use input help to select the desired filter value
  • Sender Party: Sender of the message
  • Inbound Service Interface Name: C4C Service Interface Name
  • Creation UserID: User ID that created the message
  • Execution UserID: User ID that executes the message

OUTGOING Messages    

  • Message Direction: OUTGOING
  • Status: Field MessageState of the message, use input help to select the desired filter value
  • Status Label: Filter on the status details
  • Status Group: The status group of the message, use input help to select the desired filter value
  • Receiver Party: Receiver of the message
  • Outbound Service Interface Name: Set this to the Process Component of the virtual endpoint to filter only for the first message (e.g. BusinessPartnerDataManagement)
  • Creation UserID: User ID that created the message
  • Execution UserID: User ID that executes the message
