SAP HANA Smart Data Integration, Provisioning Agent

This page explains how to prepare a SAP HANA Smart Data Integration, Provisioning Agent for the execution of Simple System Integration.

This Agent was also named SAP Data Services Agent and SAP Data Provisioning Agent for HANA.

Preparations in the Managed System

Run Outside Discovery on the HostAs prerequisites, you shall install the SAP Host Agent and run Outside Discovery as described in Preparing Outside Discovery page.

 

LMDB

Manual modelling via Unspecific Cluster:

 

1  Create system of type Unspecific Cluster in LMDB.

  • SID = <DBSID> of SDI/IBP system to connect to.
  • No installation path necessary on cluster level.

2  Add each SAP DP Agent connecting to SDI/IBP as a Technical Instance to the cluster

  • Server Name=<agent_name> (check or set parameter ‘agent.name' in dpagentconfig.ini)
  • Technology Type = Others
  • Host = <SAP DB Agent Host>
  • Installation Path = <path of dpagent.ini location>

3  Add software component version HANA DPAGENT 2.0 to instances (mark 'installed' and 'used')

Check if an SLDR is neededAs prerequisites, you need to choose, according to your landscape, if an SLDR is required see page Preparing System Landscape Data Router.

1  Download latest ISAGENT package for the related OS version:

2  Unpack downloaded zip file to a valid folder on agent host.

3  Make sure, executor of SAP DP Agent process is allowed to access ISAGENT folders

4. Maintain IntroscopeAgent.profile with connection details about Enterprise Manager

5  Add ByteCodeAdapter details in SAP DP Agent configuration file dpagent.ini:
-javaagent:<path>/Agent.jar
-Dcom.wily.introscope.agentProfile=<path>/IntroscopeAgent.profile

-Dcom.wily.introscope.agent.agentName=<custom_agent_name>

6. Restart SAP DP Agent and check presence in Enterprise Manager

7  Troubleshooting:

If no logfiles are created in subfolder logs of your ISAGENT, check the deployment status of the ByteCodeAgent during Javastart, e.g. in log folder of SAP DP Agent “dpagentservicedaemon.log”

System Monitoring

Per default no standard assignment is active. The template assignment can be executed by “Manual Template Assignment” or by defining a “Default and Rule-based Assignment” for Technical Instance type “SAP HANA Information Management Data Provisioning Agent 2.0”.

In addition there are some metrics available in SAP HANA DB template related to SAP DP Agent. They starting with DP:* and measuring data from inside SAP HANA database.
