Setup for SAP Build Process Automation

This page explains how to connect SAP Build Process Automation to SAP Focused Run. For the setup of the supported monitoring applications, please click on the monitoring application below.

Currently, the following monitoring applications are supported for SAP Build Process Automation:

Prerequisites

The following technical prerequisites have to be met in order to monitor this scenario:

  • You need a user with the "Destination Administrator" authorizations in the SAP BTP subaccount in which SAP Build Process Automation is subscribed
  • SAP Cloud ALM subscription
  • To enable this monitoring please ensure that you configured the SAP Focused Run reverse proxy in SAP Cloud ALM
  • You have enabled the landscape sync during the reverse proxy setup
  • You need to obtain the SAP Cloud ALM Service Key to connect to the SAP Cloud ALM system

Activate Monitoring Data PUSH in SAP Build Process Automation

Create Destination in BTP Cockpit

  1. Log on to SAP BTP Cockpit and navigate to the sub-account for your SAP Build Process Automation 
  2. Go to Connectivity > Destinations
  3. Click on "New Destination"
  4. Create a new destination using the "Blank Template" view
    1. Name: Enter a name for the destination as sap_process_automation_cloud_alm
    2. Type: HTTP
    3. URL: Enter the reverse proxy URL
      1. To obtain this URL go to the system entry for your SAP Focused Run system in your SAP Cloud ALM Landscape Management and click the "Root URL" button next to the endpoint that you created during the Reverse Proxy Setup
    4. Authentication: Select 'OAuth2ClientCredentials'
    5. Client ID: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "clientid"
    6. Client Secret: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "clientsecret"
    7. Token Service URL: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "uaa" > "url" + /oauth/token
  5. Save the destination

Activate Monitoring Use-Cases

  1. Click on the drop-down icon next to 'Backend Configuration' and select 'SAP Cloud ALM'
  2. Enter a service name, e.g., your SAP Build Process Automation tenant ID
  3. Click the "Save" button
  4. Now the "Register" button gets activated
  5. Click the "Register" button
  6. Activate the monitoring data collection for the monitoring use-cases as described on the page Using SAP Cloud ALM.

If you already performed the registration and the monitoring setup at an earlier point in time, please follow the section Existing Configuration in the SAP Help.

Setup Steps in SAP Focused Run

The cloud service entry for the SAP Build Process Automation service which was created by the landscape sync from SAP Cloud ALM will be updated. For this cloud service, the data collection for the activated use cases will be automatically activated. No further steps have to be taken.
