Setup for Integration Hub for Life Sciences

This page explains how to connect the Integration Hub for Life Sciences to SAP Cloud ALM to enable monitoring.

Currently, the following monitoring application is supported for the Integration Hub for Life Sciences:

Prerequisites

To enable Integration Hub for Life Sciences to send monitoring data to SAP Cloud ALM:

  • You need a user with Destination Administrator authorizations in the SAP BTP sub-account for Integration Hub for Life Sciences
  • You need to obtain the SAP Cloud ALM Service Key to connect to the SAP Cloud ALM system

Destination Setup in SAP BTP Cockpit

Obtain LMS ID

Before you can create the destination, you need to obtain the LMS ID for your Integration Hub for Life Sciences tenant in SAP Cloud ALM. The LMS ID is a unique ID with which the cloud service can be identified and addressed in SAP Cloud ALM.

  1. Log on to your SAP Cloud ALM tenant
  2. Open "Administration" > "Landscape Management"
  3. On "Services" find your Integration Hub for Life Sciences tenant
  4. Click on the tenant to open the details
  5. In the header area of the service details, you find a field with the label "ID
  6. Copy the value for this field (e.g. 1aa11a1a-bbb2-33c3-4d4d-ee5e5e555e55)

Create Destination in BTP Cockpit

If you already created a destination for your SAP Batch Release Hub for Life Sciences tenant, you must reuse the destination. You only have to perform step 5 and add the additional property as described below.
  1. Log on to SAP BTP Cockpit and navigate to the sub-account for your Integration Hub for Life Sciences
  2. Go to Connectivity > Destinations
  3. Click on "New Destination"
  4. Create a new destination using the "Blank Template" view
    1. Name: CALM_INTEGRATION (you must use this name)
    2. Type: HTTP
    3. URL: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "Api" without /api
    4. Proxy Type: "Internet"
    5. Authentication: Select 'OAuth2ClientCredentials'
    6. Client ID: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "clientid"
    7. Client Secret: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "clientsecret"
    8. Token Service URL Type: Dedicated
    9. Token Service URL: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "url" + /oauth/token
  5. Add a new property to the destination:
    1. Click the "New Property" button
    2. Name: coreServiceId (you can enter the value directly as it will not be in the drop-down box)
    3. Value: Enter the LMS ID you obtained earlier.
  6. Save the destination

No additional steps are necessary after the creation of the destination. Once the destination is created, the next call to the Integration Hub for Life Sciences APIs (e.g. from SAP S/4HANA) will trigger the monitoring registration to SAP Cloud ALM.

The monitoring registration will automatically activate the monitoring. You can find the result in the Integration & Exception Monitoring application in SAP Cloud ALM.

Next Steps

After setting up the monitoring PUSH to SAP Cloud ALM in the managed service, the data collection will be activated automatically with default monitoring configurations.

You can adjust the monitoring setup within the monitoring application. Find more information on the configuration on the "Setup & Configuration" pages for the application.
