News with Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 SPS 35

This page describes the new and improved tools in the SL Toolset 1.0 with SPS 35.
The main page provides the complete list of tools and features related to Software Logistics.

  • Availability: SL Toolset 1.0 SPS 35 is available since May 24th 2022.
  • What's in: compared to SPS 34, no tool was added or removed. SUM 1.1 SP 00 is the successor of SUM 1.0 SP 28.

 

Software Maintenance

SUM 1.1 SP 00:

  • SUM 1.1 SP 00 is the successor of SUM 1.0 SP 28, see SUM page and blog post
  • Java: manually created indexes on HANA are preserved

SUM 2.0 SP 14:

  • SUM Utilities: offer HANA database statistics (update and migration cases)
  • DMO:
    • New default schema name "SAPHANADB" (instead of SAPABAP1) for target on BASIS higher than 7.52
    • Row count after migration is now optional
    • SAP HANA log mode handling adapted: SUM sets log mode to overwrite before the migration (see blog post)
  • doDMO/downtime-optimized conversion: SHD / TMP notes: explicit dialog shown also if SUM has no SAP Note that requires implementation
  • Prerequisite Check: required SAP Notes for target release are now listed
  • ZDO:
    • Extension of scope for allowed add-on products
    • Enhancement of ZDO consistency check
    • Support of multiple SLT servers

Changes with latest SL Toolset version for 7.00 to 7.56 (SL Toolset 1.0 SPS 35 / Version 0082)

  • Enhancements and bug fixes in SUM relevant functions: 
    • Adaptions for the Software Update Manager (SUM) (SL Toolset SP Stack 35).
    • Support for upgrades / conversions to S/4HANA / S/4HANA FOUNDATION 2022.
    • Bug fix in the preparational steps for Add-On uninstallations (see SAP note 3168507).
  • Improvements of the uninstallation process: 
    • Improved support for lock objects. All generated artefacts are consistently deleted.
    • Support for new object types. 
    • Support for new Add-Ons.

Software Provisioning

Changes with Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP35 and 2.0 SP12

  • SWPM 1.0 SP35 and SWPM 2.0 SP12:

    • Full functionality for NetWeaver ABAP and Java now enabled for  AIX 7.3 ​

  • SWPM 2.0 SP12:
    • SAP S/4HANA Installation now supports the installation of product related HANA Data Units

Standalone Task Manager for Lifecycle Management Automation

  • DEPRECATED 
    Maintenance for Standalone Task Manager for Lifecycle Management Automation has ended on December 31st, 2019.
    From now on, no improvements will be delivered. For more information, see SAP Note 2595196 and follow the instructions of the respective SAP products for technical configuration.
