This page explains how to connect SAP Analytics Cloud to SAP Focused Run. For the setup of the supported monitoring applications, please click on the monitoring application below.

Real User Monitoring

Prerequisites

The following technical prerequisites have to be met in order to monitor this scenario:

You need at least SAP Focused Run 5.0 FP01 to use Real User Monitoring

Setup steps in SAP Analytics Cloud

Create API service key
  1. Logon to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant with Admin authorization and open the Admin page: (System) → Administration → App Integration → Either pick a configured Client or add a New OAuth Client.
    Purpose = API Access
    Access = at least Monitoring
    Authorization grant = Client Credentials
  2. Note down clientId, secret and token url.

Setup steps in SAP Focused Run

For SAP Analytics Cloud, you can collect monitoring data for  Real User Monitoring.

Endpoint for Real User Monitoring

  • Global:
    • API Root URL: The Root URL for your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant or keep the automatically provided value
    • Description: Enter a description for your service
    • Use Case: Choose Real User Monitoring
  • Authentication
    • Type: OAUTH
    • OAuth URL: Enter the oauth URL from previous step in SAP Analytics Cloud (including protocol https:// and path /oauth/token)
    • Client ID: The client ID from  previous step in SAP Analytics Cloud 
    • Client Secret: The client secret from previous step in SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Section 'Proxy':
    • If necessary add proxy information to connect to the cloud service

Activate in Real User Monitoring

  1. Go back to the launchpad or call transaction FRUN
  2. Select  Real User Monitoring
  3. Open scope selection and enter the Service you have entered in the step before -> click on Go, select it and then click on Ok.
  4. Click the Configuration Icon in the upper right corner of the Real User Monitoring application and open the Systems panel
  5. Activate the service
