Currently, the following monitoring applications are supported for SAP Analytics Cloud:

Prerequisites

To enable SAP Analytics Cloud for monitoring with SAP Cloud ALM:

You need a user with administrator authorizations in SAP Analytics Cloud

Setup in SAP Analytics Cloud

Determine your Environment

Before starting the setup, you need to determine whether your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant is running in an SAP or non-SAP data center. 

  • SAP data centers run the SAP BTP, Neo environment
  • non-SAP data centers (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.) run the Cloud Foundry environment
  1. Open the Landscape Management application from the launchpad
  2. Select your SAP Analytics Cloud service
  3. In the "Details" find the value for "Infrastructure Provider"    
    1. SAP: SAP data center
    2. amazon, Azure, etc. : Non-SAP data center
SAP Analytics Cloud running in an SAP Data Center or non-SAP data center (Neo)
Only Exception Monitoring is supported
  1. In the SAP Analytics Cloud launchpad navigate to the 'System' → 'Administration' view in the left-hand navigation panel
  2. Copy the 'Token URL', you will use this later in SAP Cloud ALM
  3. Under 'Configured Clients' click 'Add a New OAuth Client'
    • Name: Enter a name, e.g. Cloud ALM integration
    • Purpose: API Access
    • Access: Monitoring
  4. Under 'Security' enter:
    • Authorization Grant: 'Client Credentials'
    • Secret: Enter the password. Note it down. You will need it later.
  5. Set the Token Lifetime to 1 hour.
  6. Copy the 'OAuth Client ID'
  7. Click 'Save'
SAP Analytics Cloud running in a SAP Data Center or non-SAP Data Center (Cloud Foundry)
For Exception Monitoring and/or Real User Monitoring
  1. In the SAP Analytics Cloud launchpad navigate to the 'System' → 'App Integration' view in the left-hand navigation panel
  2. Copy the 'Token URL', you will use this later in SAP Cloud ALM
  3. Under 'Configured Clients' click 'Add a New OAuth Client'
    • Name: Enter a name, e.g. Cloud ALM integration
    • Purpose: API Access
    • Access: Monitoring
    • Authorization Grant: 'Client credentials'
  4. Click the 'Add' button
  5. Copy the 'OAuth Client ID'
  6. Click the 'Show Secret' button
  7. Copy the secret
  8. Click 'Done'

Setup Steps in SAP Cloud ALM

Create Endpoint for Integration & Exception Monitoring and/or Real User Monitoring

You can add several use-cases to one endpoint. If you there is already an endpoint created for one use-case, you must add an additional endpoint for an additional use-case.

  1. Open the Landscape Management application from the launchpad
  2. Select your SAP Analytics Cloud service
  3. Press the > button at the end of the line
  4. On the tab "Endpoints" press the Add button to create a new end-point
  5. Enter a description
  6. Choose the use-case "Exception Monitoring" and/or 'Real User Monitoring'
  7. Enter the "Main URL" in the field "Root URL" if it is not prefilled.
  8. Choose OAuth2ClientCredentials: Enter the following values
    1. Client ID: OAuth Client ID
    2. Client Secret: secret
    3. Token Service URL: Token URL
    4. Token Service User: OAuth Client ID (automatically filled, only needed for SAP (Neo) data centers)
    5. Token Service Password: secret (automatically filled, only needed for SAP (Neo) data centers)
  9. Save your endpoint

After the creation of the endpoint, you have to activate the data collection for the monitoring use-cases in the respective monitoring applications.
