SAP delivers Guided Procedure Templates in SAP Solution Manager for common administration tasks as well as re-usable configurable automatic Guided Procedure Steps (so-called Plug-ins) that can easily be customized and used in customer defined guided procedures.
These guided procedure templates provide systematic descriptions for some common administrative tasks like regular health checks for different system types as well as some administrative actions for SAP Solution Manager itself. You can copy them into customer name space and adapt the content to your needs (see here for details how to do this). You can execute these guided procedures ad-hoc from guided procedure browser for the SAP Solution Manager system for any suitable managed system or schedule and delegate the execution using IT Task Management.

These guided procedure templates describe systematic root cause analysis and alert handling activities to resolve an alert or at least narrow down the root cause. You can execute them from alert inbox in the context of specific alerts. Prerequisite is that system monitoring is configured. Please find below an overview over available guided procedure templates:

User Control:
| Lock Users: You can use this Guided Procedure Plug-in to select and lock users on managed ABAP system. As of Sp14 this plug-in can trigger the locking process for several systems and high number of users in parallel.
Unlock Users: You can use this Guided Procedure Plug-in to unlock all users defined within the Users Lock plugin in the managed ABAP system. |
