Lean Selective Data Transition

 

Lean Selective Data Transition is a migration approach to move from SAP ERP Central Component (EHP 6 or 7) to SAP Cloud ERP Private or On-Premise. This solution acts as an intermediary between a complete System Conversion and New Implementation that enables the migration of selected data. It is designed to reduce data volume while retaining valuable historical information. Users can conduct system analysis, and  define scope via the Digital Blueprint, create migration cycles and execute data transformation and migration based on designated company codes and time slice.

The Lean Selective Data Transition enables data volume reduction, by allowing the selection of specific company codes and the use of the time slice function to ensure that only business-relevant data is migrated, minimizing the data footprint and streamlining the migration process.

SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit

 

The SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit is SAP’s built-in tool for migrating business data for New Implementations, streamlining the transfer of data from certain SAP source systems or non-SAP systems to SAP Cloud ERP Private or SAP Cloud ERP. Migration objects, which represent the business data being moved, are divided into master data and transactional data categories, and can be enhanced with the SAP S/4HANA migration object modeler. The migration cockpit guides users through every stage of the migration process, including data selection, transformation, simulation, and execution. Its built-in data validation and intuitive no-code interface ensures a smooth and standardized execution. It offers two different approaches depending on the source system: Migrate Data Using Staging Tables, which comes with predefined XML or CSV template files, for non-SAP source systems or Migrate Data Directly from SAP System. By leveraging SAP best practices, the cockpit simplifies data migration and helps maintain data integrity and consistency through the whole process.
