Objectives

The Real User Monitoring - Request Overview data provider in the OCC Dashboard gives you access to different metrics and KPIs from the Real User Monitoring application.

 

 

 

Real User Monitoring (RUM) provides a permanent measurement and monitors every single activity of real users including resource consumption and correlation for long running executions with backend requests.

The following metrics are available:

  • Response Time
  • Nb Executions
  • Nb Green Executions
  • Nb Yellow Executions
  • Nb Red Executions
  • CPU Time (available for Dialog, HTTP(s), WS, Background and, with some limitations, RFC(s))
  • DB Time
  • Wait Time
  • Transactions per second
  • HTTP Client and Server errors (available only for HTTP(s) and WS requests)

Configuration

The configuration of a Real User Monitoring - Request Overview query can be summarized in the following steps:

  1. Select a Technical System from the "Filter" => "Extended SID" tab
  2. Select one or more request types from the "Filter" => "Request Types" view (all requests are selected by default)
  3. Select a metric from the "General" => "Metrics" tab (Response Time is selected by default)
  4. Optional: select a Group and/or a drilldown dimension

By default, all requests types will be displayed as an individual time series. Starting with SAP Focused Run 4.3 a new option is available to aggregate all the request types: "Request Type Aggregation"

KPIs used in this data provider can be validated against the standard RUM application creating a Custom Page and selecting the "Generic View"
