SAP HANA Cloud

This page explains how to connect an SAP HANA Cloud database to SAP Focused Run. For the setup of the supported monitoring applications, please click on the monitoring application below.

Currently, the following monitoring application is supported for SAP HANA Cloud:

Prerequisites

To monitor SAP HANA Cloud with SAP Focused Run, you need:
  • SAP Focused Run 3.0 FP03 or higher
  • Access to SAP BTP Cockpit
  • Your user in BTP Cockpit needs to be a member with the space role "Space Developer" for the space, in which the SAP HANA Cloud database instance was created.

Setup Steps in SAP HANA Cloud

Create Service Key

To enable OAuth authentication between SAP Cloud ALM and SAP HANA Cloud, you must create a service key for the SAP HANA Cloud instance. 

If there is already an existing service key, you can use this service key for the connection with SAP Cloud ALM.

  1. Go to SAP BTP Cockpit → Access the sub-account used for SAP HANA Cloud
  2. Go to "Instances and Subscriptions"
  3. Find the instance with Service "SAP HANA Cloud" and plan "hana" for the database instance that you want to connect.
  4. Select the row of the instance
  5. Go to tab "Service Keys"
  6. Click "Create"
  7. Enter a name for the service key
  8. Click "Create"

Setup Steps in SAP Focused Run

Input Values for SAP HANA Cloud

  • Cloud Service Type: SAP HANA Cloud
  • Tenant: Database name
  • Instance Id (mandatory): The Instance ID of the database (can be found in SAP HANA Cloud Central)
  • Root URL: The API URL
    • Find the parameter "host" in the SAP HANA Cloud service key
    • Replace the part <hostname>.hana with api.gateway.orchestration
    • Example: "host" = "1ab123a4-1234-12b3-a123-1d234e567890.hana.trial-us10.hanacloud.ondemand.com" will become the Root URL "https://api.gateway.orchestration.trial-us10.hanacloud.ondemand.com"
  • Description (optional) 

  • Section 'Global':
    • API Root URL: 
      • Find the parameter "host" in the SAP HANA Cloud service key
      • Replace the part <hostname>.hana with api.gateway.orchestration
      • Example: "host" = "1ab123a4-1234-12b3-a123-1d234e567890.hana.trial-us10.hanacloud.ondemand.com" will become the Root URL "https://api.gateway.orchestration.trial-us10.hanacloud.ondemand.com"
    • Description: A meaningful description
    • Use Case: Choose Health Monitoring
  • Section 'Authentication':
    • Type: OAUTH
    • OAuth URL: The SAP HANA Cloud service key parameter "uaa":"url" extended by /oauth/token
    • Client ID: The SAP HANA Cloud service key parameter "uaa":"clientid"
    • Client Secret: The SAP HANA Cloud service key parameter "uaa":"clientsecret"
  • Section 'Proxy':
    • If necessary add proxy information to connect to the cloud service
