Setup for SAP Event Broker for SAP cloud applications

This page explains how to connect SAP Event Broker for SAP cloud applications to SAP Cloud ALM to monitor CloudEvents passed between SAP cloud applications.

Currently, the following monitoring application is supported for SAP Event Broker:

Prerequisites

  • Verify that you find your SAP Event Broker service in SAP Cloud ALM Landscape Management
    • It can take up to 48h after subscribing to SAP Event Broker until the service is available in SAP Cloud ALM.
  • You have the Event Broker Integration Administrator role collection assigned to your user in SAP BTP Cockpit
  • You need to obtain the SAP Cloud ALM Service Key to connect to the SAP Cloud ALM tenant

PUSH Monitoring Registration

  1. In SAP BTP Cockpit select your SAP Event Broker subscription and click on "Go to Application"
  2. In your SAP Event Broker application, navigate to "Monitoring"
  3. Click on "Register SAP Cloud ALM"
  4. In the "Register SAP Cloud ALM" window enter the following values:
    1. Endpoint: Service key parameter "Api" without /api, e.g. https://eu10.alm.cloud.sap
    2. OAuth URL: Service key parameter "url" extended by /oauth/token
    3. Client ID: Service key parameter "clientid"
    4. Client Secret: Service key parameter "clientsecret"
  5. Click the "Save" button

The registration activates the PUSH data collection and automatically sends event error data to SAP Cloud ALM.

Next Steps

After setting up the monitoring PUSH to SAP Cloud ALM in the managed service, the data collection will be activated automatically with default monitoring configurations. 

You can adjust the monitoring setup within the monitoring application. Find more information on the configuration on the "Setup & Configuration" pages for the application. 

PUSH Monitoring Deregistration

To remove the monitoring setup and deregister SAP Event Broker from SAP Cloud ALM perform the following steps.

  1. In SAP BTP Cockpit select your SAP Event Broker subscription and click on "Go to Application"
  2. In the SAP Event Broker application, navigate to "Monitoring"
  3. Click on "Remove SAP Cloud ALM"
