News with Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 SPS 39

Software Maintenance

SUM 1.1 SP 02:

  • UPGANA.XML now also available as UPGANA.HTML file

SUM 2.0 SP 18:

  • Support for ABAP connection with SNC and SSO (SSO not yet for ZDO)​

  • ZDO:
    • Support for scale-out systems
    • Option to unlock system to implement SAP Notes
  • Homogeneous DMO: SAP HANA DB to SAP HANA DB:
    • Downtime-optimizations are now supported (doDMO, downtime-optimized Conversion)

Changes with latest SL Toolset version for 7.00 to 7.57 (SL Toolset 1.0 SPS 39 / Version 0086)

  • Enhancements and bug fixes in SUM relevant functions: 
    • Adaptions for the Software Update Manager (SUM) (SL Toolset SP Stack 39).
    • Improved behavior of OCS functions during uptime phases of Upgrades (see SAP note 3355674).

  • Improved API functions to read the system information - better performance and better stability during the import of SPAM/SAINT updates.

  • Improvements of the uninstallation process: 
    • Suppress not relevant object usages in phase CHECK_USAGE (see SAP note 3363400).
    • Improved handling of object moves in conversion scenarios (uninstallation of old + installation of new add-on components).

    • Support for new object types and for new Add-Ons.

Software Provisioning

Changes with Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP39 and 2.0 SP16

  • SWPM 2.0 SP16:

    • Enablement of S/4HANA 2023, S/4HANA Foundation 2023, and BW/4HANA 2023, DCK 7.89 for S/4HANA 2020 and above and related BW/4HANA versions​

    • Data-at-Rest-Encryption turned on by default (for installations on HANA2 SP07 and higher)​

  • SWPM 1.0 SP39:

    • Ensure De-clustering is not used for DB-Refresh scenario (Only supported for System Copy)

    • Standalone Gateway installation with all Unicode SAP Kernel binaries is supported for all SAP Kernel for all NW 7.xx product versions​

  • SWPM 1.0 SP39 and SWPM 2.0 SP16:

    • On Windows SAPGLOBALHOST can be defined during ASCS instance installations​

    • "glibc" version is checked as prerequisite for SAP Kernel 7.54 and 7.88 and higher​
