Software Maintenance

SUM 1.1 SP 00:

SUM 2.0 SP 15:

  • RHEL7 / SLES12 is no longer supported (as OS for AppServer host) for target S/4HANA 2020 (and higher) with SUM 2.0 SP 15 (and higher)
    • Relevant for target S/4HANA 2022 and now also for 2020, 2021
    • Workaround: replace or update existing Application Servers (or install AAS with supported OS) prior SUM start
  • For migration to SAP HANA database: SAP HANA client archive is expected in download directory (for migration scenarios)
    • A new dialog offers local or central installation (default is local)
    • If client is already installed and a newer version is provided, the client is updated
    • Previous dialog asking for location of the SAP HANA client (or for the archive for installation) is removed
  • ZDO: removing bridge system as part of a reset is now performed in uptime if following conditions are met:
    • Start release SAP S/4HANA 2020 (or higher)
    • Minimum source Kernel: Kernel 781 patch level 241 or Kernel 785 patch level 115

Changes with latest SL Toolset version for 7.00 to 7.57 (SL Toolset 1.0 SPS 36 / Version 0083)

  • Enhancements and bug fixes in SUM relevant functions: 
    • Adaptions for the Software Update Manager (SUM) (SL Toolset SP Stack 36).
  • Improved interaction with the revamped Note Assistant when importing transport based corrections (TCI)​.

  • Improvements of the uninstallation process: 
    • Improved handling of generated objects when creating the deletion piecelists.​

    • Correct handling of special DDIC objects in phase CHECK_USAGE​

    • The simulation tool considers plugin classes for a more realistic simulation of the uninstallation ​

    • Support for new object types. 
    • Support for new Add-Ons.

Software Provisioning

Changes with Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP36 and 2.0 SP13

  • SWPM 1.0 SP36 and SWPM 2.0 SP13:
    • Temporary issues with downloads from non-EMEA regions have been resolved
    • When downloading installation packages, the latest patch level is selected
    • SAP Host Agents installed along with S/4HANA 2022 will have TLS1.2 (Transport Layer Security) configured​
    • Master Password dialog now requires a confirmation and supports password up to 30 characters long​
    • PI installations reference the required post installation activities
    • Hostnames with more than 13 characters are supported for installations of Solution Manager Diagnostics Agent (SMDA)​
  • SWPM 2.0 SP13:
    • Supports SWPM functionality installation of S/4HANA 2022, S/4HANA Foundation 2022

Standalone Task Manager for Lifecycle Management Automation

    Maintenance for Standalone Task Manager for Lifecycle Management Automation has ended on December 31st, 2019.
    From now on, no improvements will be delivered. For more information, see SAP Note 2595196 and follow the instructions of the respective SAP products for technical configuration.
