Connections

Purpose: This article explains how users can utilize the Connections feature in Skyline.

Prerequisites

The users must have Landscape Owner or Landscape Viewer authorization role assigned.

With the Connections menu, landscape moves to top-down view for connections overview.

For selected tiers, all connections with their directions are displayed.

Access and Navigation steps

Access

  1. Logon to SAP for Me: https://me.sap.com/home
  2. Click on: “Portfolio Products”, and later “My Product Portfolio” ​
  3. Choose tile: “Landscape Hub”​
  4. Landscape Hub will open in a new window 

Navigation steps

Go to Landscape Hub > Skyline.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Click the Connections option and enable the Connections toggle to see all the connections in the landscape.

When the Connections view is activated, the landscape view moves into a top-down view to display all tiers with their connections of type Web Dispatcher and User Management Engine.

  • At details card for selected tier, the new Connections tab shows all connections to and from this tier.
  • Additionally, these connections are made visible in the landscape. With mouse over, only the selected connection is shown.

Connections can be also be displayed in the 3D view of the landscape, using the Connections tab at the details card of a tier. This tab is empty if there are no connections maintained.

User can also see the direction of the connections, and single connections can be selected/deselected at the details card.

Expected Results

In Skyline, Web Dispatcher and User Management Engine (UME) Connections are shown as technical components connected to the SAP application stack, helping the users visualize traffic flow and authentication dependencies within the landscape.
