Prerequisites

Current scope

  • The following applications support data forwarding to SAP Focused Run:
    • Configuration & Security Analysis (as of SAP Focused Run 5.0)
    • Health Monitoring
    • Job & Automation Monitoring (as of SAP Focused Run 5.0)
    • Real User Monitoring
    • Integration & Exception Monitoring (as of SAP Focused Run 4.0 FP03)
      • Note that different SAP Focused Run systems monitoring the same managed cloud service must have identical filter configurations for this managed cloud service to avoid conflicts. SAP plans to add more flexibility here in the future.
  • It can take up to 10 minutes until any configuration changes are actually considered by the Data Routing Infrastructure (DRI).

Setup

  1. Adjust the scopes JSON file
    1. Download the file FRUN Proxy Scopes and open it
    2. Enter the name of your instance in the xsappname field instead of <Instance Name> in line 3.
    3. Save your changes.
  2. [SAP Cloud ALM BTP Subaccount] Create service key with the necessary scopes
    1. Go to your SAP Cloud ALM subaccount in SAP BTP Cockpit
    2. Navigate to Instances and Subscriptions
    3. Click the “Create” button in the upper right corner
    4. In Step “Basic Info”
      1. Select service “SAP Cloud ALM API”
      2. Select plan “Standard”
      3. Select runtime environment “Other” (you may also select Cloud Foundry if it is activated in your subaccount)
      4. Enter an instance name
      5. Click “Next”
    5.  In step “Parameters”:
      1. Click the “Browse” button
      2. Upload the file you changed earlier
      3. Click “Create”
    6. Your new instance will appear in the table “Instances”
    7. Click on the “…” button at the end of the row
    8. Click “Create Service Binding” (or “Create Service Key” for Cloud Foundry instances)
      1. Enter a name
      2. Click “Create”
    9. Download the new service binding (or service key for Cloud Foundry instances) by clicking on “…” at the end of the row and choosing “Download”
  3. [SAP Focused Run/SE38] Establish connection to SAP Cloud ALM:
    1. Execute report FRUN_PROXY_SETUP to maintain a connection to your SAP Cloud ALM tenant. Starting with SAP Focused Run 4.0 FP02 multiple SAP Cloud ALM tenants can be connected. Required authorization for changing settings: FRN_PROXY, activity 07 (ACTIVATE).
    2. Click 'Add SAP Cloud ALM' and then 'Paste Service Key' to paste the service key you downloaded earlier
    3. If a proxy is required, add the host and port
    4. Click on 'Check Connection': As result the connection test for a single SAP Cloud ALM tenant should be successful.
  4. [SAP Focused Run] Activate data forwarding to SAP Focused Run for a managed cloud service by using the configuration panel in the respective use case application, e.g. go to Health Monitoring and add your Cloud Service (Cloud Services → Configuration → scroll down on right side to Cloud Services, there Add → select and activate the data collection).
  5. [SAP Focused Run] View monitored data for your cloud services in your SAP Focused Run applications.
  6. [SAP Focused Run - SE38] Monitor the traffic in the monitor view of the report FRUN_PROXY_SETUP.

In order to deactivate data forwarding to SAP Focused Run, disable data forwarding to SAP Focused Run for a managed cloud service in the use case application in SAP Focused Run.
