Cloud Service Availability Events in SAP Focused Run

SAP for Me offers a customizable dashboard view of the status of your SAP Cloud services. The dashboard provides real-time information on incidents (service disruptions, degradations) and scheduled maintenance and upgrade events occurring with your products.

SAP Cloud ALM provides with Business Service Management a possibility to maintain additionally customer specific status events for cloud services.

Starting with release 4.0 FP02, SAP Focused Run can automatically receive and consume status events from SAP for Me and from Business Service Management events.

This provides the following advantages:

  • You can inform yourself about completed or upcoming maintenance events for SAP-managed cloud services in IT Calendar
  • Automated alert suppression during maintenance events for cloud services scheduled by SAP
  • SAP Focused Run can automatically generate alerts if SAP reports Disruption or Degradation events of SAP -managed cloud services.
  • Maintenance and disruption events reported by SAP can be included automatically into Service Availability Management

Details

SAP Focused Run receives new and updated status events from SAP for Me or from Business Service Management in near real time. It processes the events as below:
  • Maintenance events are displayed as planned downtimes in IT Calendar. Alert suppression is enabled during maintenance events.
  • Disruption and Degradation Events are displayed as alerts in Alert Management.
  • If you have created a service availability definition for the relevant cloud services then they will be also transferred to Service Availability Management:
    • Completed Maintenance events are shown as planned outage
    • Closed disruption alerts are shown as unplanned outage

IT Calendar, Alert Details and Service Availability Management show additional event details for events from SAP for ME or SAP Cloud ALM.

The  new tab "SAP Cloud ALM Event Details" shows details about the origin of the events and provides a jump-in link to the SAP Cloud ALM Event Calendar as well as an action log that shows the change history of the event.

SAP Focused Run limits the editing of  these events as they were created by SAP or in SAP Cloud ALM.
