Setup for SAP Master Data Integration

This page explains how to connect the SAP Master Data Integration to SAP Cloud ALM to enable monitoring.

Currently the following monitoring application are supported for the SAP Master Data Integration:

Prerequisites

To enable SAP Master Data Integration to send monitoring data to SAP Cloud ALM:

  • To access the monitoring app in SAP Master Data Integration your user needs the authorization role MasterDataOrchestrationAdmin
  • You need to obtain the SAP Cloud ALM Service Key to connect to the SAP Cloud ALM system

Setup Monitoring Push to SAP Cloud ALM

The following process is also described in the documentation on SAP Help under SAP Cloud Platform Master Data Integration → Administration → Initial Set-up guide → Administration → App Descriptions for SAP Master Data Orchestration → Configure Monitoring

  1. In SAP BTP Cockpit select your SAP Master Data Orchestration subscription and click on "Go to Application"
  2. Click on the "Configure Monitoring" tile
  3. Click the "Create" button
  4. Under "SAP Cloud ALM Application" enter:
    1. SAP Cloud ALM Application URL: Enter the URL to access SAP Cloud ALM, e.g. https://calm-tenant.eu10.alm.cloud.sap/launchpad
  5. Under "Monitoring Service Details" enter:
    1. Endpoint: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "Api" without '/api', e.g. https://eu10.alm.cloud.sap
    2. OAuth URL: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "uaa":"url"
    3. Client ID: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "uaa":"clientid"
    4. Client Secret: SAP Cloud ALM service key parameter "uaa":"clientsecret"
  6. Click on "Save"
  7. Click "Register" to activate the monitoring PUSH and register SAP Master Data Integration in SAP Cloud ALM
The registration will create an entry for this SAP Master Data Integration instance in the Landscape Management application of SAP Cloud ALM.
If you want to edit your entries, you first have to click on "Deregister" and then on "Edit".

Next Steps

After setting up the monitoring PUSH to SAP Cloud ALM in the managed service, the data collection will be activated automatically with default monitoring configurations. 

You can adjust the monitoring setup within the monitoring application. Find more information on the configuration on the "Setup & Configuration" pages for the application. 

Setup for Distribution Status Monitoring in SAP Master Data Orchestration

You can monitor the distribution status of your messages using the application "Display Distribution Status" in SAP Master Data Orchestration itself.

For this application to map the log information to the correct component, you have to maintain the destination mapping. The necessary setup activities are described here: 

Please note, that this setup step is not necessary to monitor SAP Master Data Integration in SAP Cloud ALM. You only have to perform this step, if you want to use the "Display Distribution Status" application in SAP Master Data orchestration.
