Info: The following steps are only needed if the database host is not running directly on the application host.

 

Prerequisites

Set-up

1. Before starting, disable Health Monitoring:

a. Call transaction /n/SDF/ALM_SETUP.

b. Select "Activate use-cases."

c. Deactivate "Health Monitoring" and select continue.

2. Select at least one application server. You can view the entries in transaction SM51.

3. From this application server, find the Host Agent name using the appropriate transaction.

4. To continue the configuration, access the Host Agent Login.

5. Navigate to Configuration → Federation Network:

a. Select “Add New Federation Peer”.

b. Enter the Host Name. It should be resolved by the application server with the IP address.

c. Select "Check Connection." The result should be "Success”.

d. Select continue to “Confirm Peer Host”.


d. Select continue to “Confirm Peer Host”.

e. Verify the fully qualified domain name.

f. Check if the username is correct and enter the password.

g. Select continue to "Discover Federation Network."

h. Ensure the created Host is added to the Federation Network.

i. Select finish.


6. Enable Health Monitoring again

a. Call transaction /n/SDF/ALM_SETUP.

b. Select “Activate use-cases”.

c. Activate “Health Monitoring” and select continue.

7. Verify in Health Monitoring that the metrics are now visible.
