Purchased Product Usage Tab

Use the Usage tab in the Product Details Page to see functional usage or application usage information for your purchased cloud products.

It provides insight into the extent to which you are actually using the functionalities of the SAP Public Cloud products you have licensed. Usage data is extracted from production systems and is provided at the Solution Capability level only. The timeframe considered is a maximum of the last 12 months maximum. Data reflecting the last month will only be available in the second week of the following or current month.

Solution Capability describes a functional capability of one or more software products that implement and support a Business Capability. By definition, a Solution Capability is product specific. Where multiple Software Products perform the same function, separate Solution Capabilities are required to represent them.

Only Solution Capabilities with an assigned Measurement Object and classified as Used or Not Used in the relevant timeframe are considered. A Solution Capability is considered Used if there is any traffic in documents, calls or users in the relevant timeframe.

Note:

This tab shows data related to the functional capabilities of the product. If you are looking for commercial consumption data for your purchased licenses, the page offers you a redirect in the blue message strip at the top of the page. You can close the message strip and it will stay hidden until you refresh your browser cache. 

Procedure

  1. From the side bar, select Portfolio & Products → My Product Portfolio
  2. In the My Purchased Product list click a product and select the Usage tab in the Purchased Product Details page. 

The Usage tab has two sets of cards:

A. Shown on cloud product details pages excluding SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Providing insights on functional usage KPIs for product-related solution capabilities.

B. Shown on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition product details page.
Providing insights on usage related KPIs such as monthly active vs valid users, most used applications, and feature usage.
 

Set A:

  • Solution Capability Usage Trend card
    Displays a trend for three Solution Capability usage KPIs over the last 12 months per purchased product. 
  • Solution Capability Usage card List and Report page
    Displays a table with different usage KPIs for a subset of five solution capabilities of the selected product. To view all Solution Capabilities in the Report page, click Show All.
  • Product Experience Card
    The generated statements reflect anonymous feedback given by your end-users in the free text field of in-product surveys. User comments are pre-filtered to provide insights that can be addressed on the customer side, such as improving training materials, improving onboarding processes, or updating user guidance. The summary is generated and displayed if more than 7 qualifying end-user feedback items are available.
    Please note, the summary is not yet available for all products. You can check which the products provide the Product Experience information in the Product Usage tab.

Set B

  • Monthly Active Users for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition card
    This card shows the number of active vs. valid users per month for the last 12 months. Valid users are business users in the system, which are created and can potentially log on. They are the license-relevant users. Active users are (distinct) users who have logged on to the system at least once within the respective month.
  • Most Used Apps for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition card and report page
    Displays a table with the ten most used applications for the last 12 months that are assigned to your purchased SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition product. To view all used Applications in the Report page, click Show All.
  • Feature Usage Card List and Report Page for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 
    Displays a table with the feature activation status and usage status over the last 6 or 12 months for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. To view all used Features in the Report page, click Show All.
  • Product Experience for S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition card
    This card shows an AI-generated list of feedback from your end-users. The generated statements reflect feedback given by your end-users in the free text field of in-product surveys. User comments are pre-filtered to provide insights that can be addressed on the customer site.
