In order to simulate an S-user’s view, the role B_:AP_UPSUSR is required.
Note: D- and I-users who had used the legacy software download simulation feature in the past, automatically got this role assigned to their profile. They can skip this step and proceed to step 2 below.
If the simulation feature mentioned in step 2 is not offered for you, proceed as follows:
- Enter the Access Request Management (ARM) system.
- From the Request Type drop-down, select Change Account.
- If requesting the role for yourself, select Self from the Request For drop-down.
If requesting the role for a colleague, select Other from the Request For drop-down. Then:
- In the User input field, enter the colleague’s user ID.
- If you don’t’ know the user ID, click the F4-Help icon to launch an input help where you can find the colleague using other selection criteria like name and e-mail address.
- Hit the ENTER key to replace your personal and communication details by those of the colleague.
- Click Add, then Role. The Select Roles window will be shown.
- Select the search criteria [Role / Profile Name] [is] B_:AP_UPSUSR. Make sure that no other search criteria (from previous queries) are still active.
- Hit the Search button.
- In the result list, mark the result with description ”Simulate on behalf of the customer S-User” with your cursor.
- Use the Add button (down-arrow) to move this result from the "Available" to the "Selected" roles.
- Click the OK button to return the Access Request form.
- Click Submit to send your request for approval.
