  • The new formats of Egypt VAT Return reports 
    According to the regulations of the ETA, taxpayers now need to submit their VAT returns directly onto the ETA portal, in CSV format. These CSV files contain line item-level details about VAT and schedule tax applicable on your sales and purchases for a reporting period. The files contain details of tax base amounts and tax amounts for all categories of sales and purchases, the new reports delivered in our tax reporting products 
  • The new Withholding Tax report in csv format
    According to the regulations of the ETA, taxpayers now need to submit their WHT returns directly onto the ETA portal, in CSV format SAP Note 2725758

  • Impact of COVID-19 on taxation: The government of Saudi Arabia has implemented several initiatives to address the consequences of coronavirus global pandemic crisis. In line with the same, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced:
  • The increase of value added tax (VAT) from 5% to 15% starting from 1 July 2020.
  • Increase in VAT rate from 5% to 15%  for SAP ERP6 and SAP S/4HANA OP customers.
  • Delivered new tax codes and VAT return report configuration content via Hotfix 2005 HFC05 and will be part of 2008 standard contents delivery for S/4HANA Cloud customers.
  • Extension of three months in the deadline to file value-added tax (VAT) and withholding tax (WHT) returns, for all deadlines that fall between 18 March 2020 to 30 June 2020.
  • Extension of VAT and WHT returns filing due date by 3 months for SAP ERP6.0 and SAP S/4HANA OP customers.
  • Transitional rules governing supplies taking place around, or spanning, the rate change.
  • Delivered analytics dashboard feature for Saudi Arabia VAT return on SLH-ACR with May patch, on May 16. Documentation link.
  • Deliver the form template MM_PUR_PURCHASE_ORDER for Saudi Arabia "SA" and adding the function module "SPELL_AMOUNT" of the net total field

  • As per MOF regulation, government entity must ensure that, contractors and vendors include the VAT amount as separate line in their quotations and invoices.   • New VAT rate of 15% in South Africa valid from 1st of April 2018 (March 2018)
    In his budget speech on 21 February 2018, South Africa's Minister of Finance announced an increase in the value-added tax (VAT) rate. The standard VAT rate will change from 14% to 15% with effect from 1 April 2018. This means that from 1 April 2018, all taxable goods or services supplied by vendors, goods imported, as well as certain services supplied by non-residents to residents for non-taxable or private use (imported services), are subject to the VAT rate of 15%.
  •     This announcement contains information about the legal change related to the VAT rate change, published in South Africa by SARS.
  •     This information is based on legislation and regulations which could be subject to change at any time by the respective authorities and are therefore not binding. The information will be updated if required.
  •     Reference
    Increase in standard VAT rate from 14% to 15% announced by the Minister of Finance in his budget speech on 21 February 2018 and on SARS website (www.sars.gov.za).
  •     Expected Solution
    - For SAP ERP on-premise releases: Set up accounting systems to process transactions at the new VAT rate of 15% from 1 April 2018.

  • Disabling business place for purchases: Compliance with VAT executive regulations stipulating that the taxable person who provides a taxable supply of goods or services must list in the transaction records the emirate where the supply is originated; representation of the emirate with the field “business place” in posting sales invoices. Improvement over the current process where the business place is active for UAE and is mandatory for both purchases and sales. The new enhancement has been delivered in S4HANA CE 1911.

  • Change in gross income ID number (RG 03/2015 by COMARB) (February 2016) – According to RG 03/2015 by the Arbitral Commission of Multilateral Agreement (Comisión Arbitral del Convenio Multilateral), the only taxpayer ID number for gross income tax is the CUIT (unique key of tax identification created by AFIP).   • Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) has been published on 29 December 2017. Under Republic Act 10963, non-taxable individual income is P250,000 and the maximum rate of 35% is applicable on income over P8,000,000. Tax exemption of 13th month pay and other bonuses increased the cap to P90,000. Deduction of P2,400 per year or P200 per month worth of premium payments on health and/or hospitalization of an individual taxpayer will be removed from January 1, 2018.
    Personal and additional exemptions are also removed from January 1, 2018. The changes on Revised Withholding Tax table takes effect on January 1, 2018.

    Business Background/Impact
    This change is effective on 1 January 2018. We  recommend you to apply SAP notes (2581184, 2584539, and 2585672) or corresponding support package to include these changes before payroll processing.

    Solution
    Under Republic Act 10963, non-taxable individual income is P250,000 and the maximum rate of 35% is applicable on income over P8,000,000. Tax exemption of 13th month pay and other bonuses increased the cap to P90,000. Deduction of P2,400 per year or P200 per month worth of premium payments on health and/or hospitalization of an individual taxpayer will be removed from January 1, 2018. Personal and additional exemptions are also removed from January 1, 2018. The changes on Revised Withholding Tax table takes effect on January 1, 2018. To meet these changes, a new tax status 'TRN' (Tax status for tax reform 2018) has been delivered. All previous tax status (HF, HF1, HF2..etc.) will be deemed to be tax status 'TRN' from Jan. 1st 2018.

  • HU Audit Function for Tax Authority (January 2016)
    According to Decree 23/2014 (VI. 30.) of the Ministry of National Economy changed by Decree 2/2015. (II. 3.) of the Ministry of National Economy each billing software shall have a so called Audit Function for Tax Authority from 1st January 2016. This function enables taxpayers to provide outgoing invoice data in a predefined xml-file format. The invoices can be selected either by billing date or by invoice number range.
    The report Audit Function for Tax Authority (RFIDHU_AUDIT_REPORT) was delivered to cover this legal change.

  • HU SEPA country specific functionality (November 2017) 
    According to the EU Regulation No. 260/2012 Hungary shall use the SEPA payments instruments from 31 October 2016. 
    General SAP supports the introduction of SEPA through the subsequent delivery of the XML payment medium formats. This correspondent to the ISO20022 standard system and recommendations of the European Payments Council (EPC). The pain.001.001.003 is recommended for credit transfers. The pain.001.001.003 format enables using SEPA/ non-SEPA payments and any currencies.

  • HU Domestic Sales and Purchase List (July 2017) According to the new Tax Package voted by the Parliament on 7th June 2016 which has changed the Subsection (1) and (2) of Section 31/B. of Act XCII/2003 on Rules of Taxation. from 1st July 2017 the invoices excide the VAT limit amount of 100.000 HUF shall be reported in the Domestic Sales and Purchase List. The VAT limit amount has been decreased from 1 M HUF to 100.000 HUF from 1 July 2017.We are still analyzing this legal requirement. Once the solution will be outlined, we are going to publish it via the new Legal Change APP on One Support Launchpad about the planned solution and planned deliver
  • HU audit function for tax authority (2016) – On January 1, 2016, Decree 2/2015 (II. 3.) of the Ministry of National Economy went into effect, mandating a new legal requirement for the audit function. This function now enables taxpayers to provide an XML file of issued invoices, filtered by billing date or by number range, in a predefined structure for the tax authority in case of an audit. SAP is analyzing this legal requirement and will provide an update about the planned solution and delivery date.
  • HU change in fulfillment data of periodic settlement (July 2015) – As per sections 58 and 58/A of Act on VAT CXXVII of 2007 (changed by Section 111.§ Act LXXIV of 2014), there is a legal change regarding how to derive the fulfillment date of periodic settlement in Hungary. The change came into force on July 1, 2015 for auditing, tax consulting, and accounting services, and on January 1, 2016 for other services and products.   • Advanced Compliance Reporting (ACR) for Türkiye has been enhanced with additional reports and is available in S/4HANA releases for on-premise and cloud systems
    The following reports are available:
    - E-Ledger Report provides download of e-ledger files. Service providers can transfer downloaded files into legally required format and then submit to local authorities. Technical structure and mapping of download files can be checked in SAP note 2865499.
    - Purchase Sales Declaration (Ba-Bs Forms), Sales Invoice List, Input VAT Declaration, and Inventory Ledger are also available.
     
  • - Document Compliance for Türkiye 
    - The scenarios for E-Invoice, E-Archive, Export Registration can be used with connections to service provider Sovos fka Foriba fka FIT only.
