Setup Steps in SAP S/4HANA Cloud essential edition (ES)

To enable SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essential edition (ES) to send monitoring data to SAP Cloud ALM.

Prerequisites:

  • You need an user with administrator authorizations in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essential edition (ES)
  • You need to obtain the SAP Cloud ALM Service Key to connect to the SAP Cloud ALM system
    • Endpoints: e.g. eu10.alm.cloud.sap
    • OAuth URL: Service Key parameter "url" + /oauth/token, e.g. calm-tenant.authentication.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/oauth/token
    • Client ID: Service key parameter "clientid"
    • Client secret: Service key parameter "clientsecret"
  1. Log on to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essential edition (ES)
  2. Navigate to the 'Communication Management' view and select 'Communication Systems'
  3. If you have created already a communication system for Cloud ALM in your S/4HANA Cloud system previously (e.g. for setting up Integration Monitoring or Business Process Monitoring) you can skip this step and reuse the same in the next step "Create Communication Arrangement".
  4. Create a new communication system
    1. Enter a System ID (e.g. CALM) and description and click the Create button
    2. Enter the Cloud ALM endpoint URL in the 'Host Name' field
    3. Make sure the 'Port' is set to 443
    4. Under 'OAuth 2.0 Settings' enter the Cloud ALM OAuth URL in the field 'Token Endpoint'
    5. Under 'Users for Outbound Communication' click the + button to create a new user
      1. Authentication Method: Choose OAuth 2.0
      2. OAuth 2.0 Client ID: Enter Cloud ALM client ID
      3. Client Secret: Enter Cloud ALM client secret
    6. Save the communication system.

The Communications Arrangement is necessary to schedule the collectors.

  1. Navigate to the 'Communication Management' view on the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essential edition (ES) launchpad
  2. Select 'Communication Arrangements'
  3. Check first if a Communication Arrangement exists already for your Cloud ALM.
    1. Enter 0527 in the Search field. If you find something check if it uses the same Communication System from step before and you can skip the next steps until step 6.
  4. Create a new Communication Arrangement
    1. Scenario: Enter SAP_COM_0527
    2. Arrangement Name: you can keep the default.
  5. Common Data: Select the communication system
  6. Additional Properties
    1. Select the data you want to collect.
      Example: If you want to collect job monitoring data set the value to for the property Collect Job Monitoring.
  7. Outbound Services 
    1. Enter '/' into Path and press enter to get Service URL filled (with e.g. https://eu10.alm.cloud.sap:443/)
    2. Job Execution Details
      Ensure the job runs every minute:
      Run Every 1 Minute(s)
