Private Cloud Performance
Overview
The section Private Cloud Performance(opens in new tab) is designed to provide transparent, actionable insights into performance usage across your company's private cloud environments. It helps with capacity management and infrastructure optimization by highlighting usage patterns and potential resource constraints.
CPU Overview
The CPU Consumption Overview offers a high-level view of CPU utilization across systems and hosts, providing transparency about ECS service performance. This allows for prompt decision-making regarding necessary actions based on CPU utilization.
CPU utilization is monitored and measured hourly, and categorized into different levels of criticality:
- Low Consumption – CPU Usage below 30%
- Medium Consumption – CPU Usage between 30% and 70%
- High Consumption – CPU Usage above 70%
In this Overview only High Consumption measurements with CPU usage above 70% are considered. Based on the percentage of High Consumption measurements the criticality levels are visualized using the following color-coded ratings:
- GREEN – ≤10% High CPU Measurements
- YELLOW – >10% and ≤30% High CPU Measurements
- AMBER – >30% and ≤50% High CPU Measurements
- RED – >50% High CPU Measurements
Note:
CPU utilization is measured and rated on physical hosts only (those with Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in overview). Virtual hosts (those without FQDN) are shown in overview with label No Data.
Viewing and Filtering Data
The CPU sub-section provides an aggregated view of CPU consumption on the Software Product level, allowing you to quickly identify critical consumption issues. By expanding the structure, you can navigate to individual hosts displaying critical CPU consumption levels.
Filters
The overview provides several default filters:
- View only Production systems.
- Adjust the display period from 3, 6, to 12 months.
- Extend the number of rows displayed in the overview.
Additionally, top-line filters can target specific Sub-Solution Areas, Software Products, or Systems.
Memory
The Memory Consumption Overview offers a high-level view of Memory utilization across systems and hosts, providing transparency about ECS service performance. This allows for prompt decision-making regarding necessary actions based on Memory utilization.
Memory utilization is monitored and measured hourly, and categorized as critical consumption based on defined thresholds for a different system type:
CPU utilization is monitored and measured hourly, and categorized into different levels of criticality:
- System Type – Rating Thresholds for Critical Memory Consumption
- OTHER – a measured hour with an average Used RAM >= 95%
- ABAP – a measured hour with an average Extended Memory Usage >= 90%
- JAVA – a measured hour with an average Garbage Collector Runtime >= 5%
- HANA – a measured hour with an average Used Memory > 90% OR Free Memory <50%
Only Critical measurements are considered in this Memory Consumption Overview. Based on the percentage of Critical measurements the criticality levels are visualized using the following color-coded ratings:
- GREEN – ≤20% Memory Critical Consumption
- YELLOW – >20% and ≤40% Memory Critical Consumption
- AMBER – >40% and ≤60% Memory Critical Consumption
- RED – >60% Memory Critical Consumption

Detail
The Detail sub-section provides a combined view for CPU Consumption Trend and Memory Consumption Trend. Both parts have a stacked column graph which shows the number of hosts by their criticality rating per month. Clicking on a graph segment (e.g., a red segment of a column) will adjust the graph and the associated table to reflect the selected criticality level.
Options to Focus on Critical Hosts
- Sort the table by Rating (CPU Rating or Memory Rating) to display hosts with the highest number of critical measurements (HIGH CPU measurements or Memory Critical Consumption on top).
- Select a segment in the graph to adjust both the graph and table accordingly.
- Customize the graph to remove non-critical-rated hosts.
Additional Filters
Filters for the System Role allow further customization, such as focusing only on productive systems, and a selection for the time period for viewing historical data.
