Product Development Data Usage Permission Card

The Product Development Data Usage Permission card allows you to view and manage permissions for SAP to use your product data for product development purposes. 

Note:

This card only appears when all license materials for all orders associated with this product have a valid opt-in status set at the time of purchase.

Required Authorization

You must have Display Order Information in SAP for Me authorization to view and modify these permissions.

Procedure

  1. Go to Portfolio & ProductsMy Product Portfolio tab → My Purchased Products card.
  2. Select a product from the My Purchased Products list to enter the product details page.
  3. Click the Additional Information tab.
  4. Locate the Product Development Data Usage Permission card in the Additional Product Settings section.

Overview

Understanding Permission Statuses

The toggle button on the card displays your current permission status:

Green (On) – SAP has permission to process data for product development.

Red (Off) – Permission has been revoked.

Managing Permissions

You have full control over your permission settings at any time. Use the toggle on the card to manage permissions for the selected product.

IMPORTANT:

Once turned off, permissions cannot be restored through this dashboard.

Notes:

  • The change applies to all orders associated with the product. 
  • After revocation, SAP will not further use this product's data for product development. 
  • If you have access to multiple customer accounts within a corporate hierarchy, the card shows the permission status only for the customer account to which your user belongs. 

Additional Information

When you grant SAP permission to process data for product development, this right is defined under your contracts with SAP. This permission helps SAP improve products using real customer data while maintaining transparency about which products have active consent.
