On-Premise Consumption Card for Self Measurement

The On-Premise Consumption card lets you understand your license compliance and software usage for SAP On-Premise products.

Procedure
  1. Go to Customer Dashboards → Finance & Legal → Consumption tab → On-Premise Consumption |Self Measurement card.
    Each of the tabs shows a table that contains information on the number of licensed and measured products with respective Metric ID and metric description. A negative value in the Delta column represents potential overuse and is indicated by an orange exclamation mark icon.
  2. To view consumption data, select Upload Measurement Results.
    Once the measurement results have been uploaded, the data appears on the On-Premise Consumption card.

  3. A detailed description of the card, including a disclaimer and step-by-step instructions for uploading measurement results, can be found on the What is this card about? page, which is accessed via More Options.

  4. To upload License Administration Workbench (LAW) results in .xml format, select Upload Measurement Results and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

  5. Self-Declaration Product Form – You see the Declare SDP Usage window here with metric, declared amount, units and status.Click on the metric ID to open an additional information sheet available with description and product info.

  6. Select the filters you want to use at the top of the card: Users, Engines, Engines Indicator, Self-Declaration Products.
  7. Select a date in Result Submission Date to access past measurement results. The Consumption and Delta columns show the actual consumption of the metric and products linked with that metric.
  8. Select Manage Measurement Results under the Submission Date to clean up the list with already uploaded measurement result.
  9. In the Metric column you will see:
    • Metric name and (in brackets) metric ID:
      Select the metric ID to open a customer information sheet available on the System Measurement page(opens in new tab) on the SAP Support Portal with additional information about the particular metric and the measurement method.
    • Open Historical View icon:
      Click on this icon to open the historical view consumption divided by number of measurements done in the past.
  10. Select the > arrow to the left of a row to expand the row and find a list of material numbers assigned to a metric. Each material number has a direct link to the product details page under the Portfolio & Products dashboard.
  11. (Optional) To download documents required to perform a system measurement, select Download Documents, then select the type of document you want to download, either:
    • Measurement Plan (PDF, LAW XML format)
    • or relevant Engine Notes (XML engine notes file format) which is a list of notes related to the measurement.
    • or select Download All.
